Brian Laundrie's cause of death has been released, according to an announcement from the Laundrie family's lawyer. Laundrie -- the fiancé of fellow Long Island native Gabby Petito died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, WFLA, News Channel 8, an NBC affiliate in Tampa, Florida, reported citing family attorney Steven Bertolino. Friend Believes Laundries Told Cops Where To Find Son In Exchange For Immunity, New Report Says
A longtime friend of Brian Laundrie believes the late 23-year-old's parents may have exchanged information with law enforcement about his whereabouts for immunity, according to a report from The Sun. An unnamed friend of Laundrie's said they believe Laundrie's parents struck a deal with either the Florida district attorney or the FBI to prevent being charged with "harboring, assisting, or whatever it might be," the outlet said Sunday. A caller who reported a "domestic dispute" between Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie in August told a 911 dispatcher he saw Laundrie slapping his girlfriend days before her disappearance, Fox News reports (click Twitter embed below to listen).
