East Orange Officer, Youth Coach Indicted For Sex Crimes Against 4 Children: Prosecutor A Union County grand jury on Tuesday returned a 16-count indictment charging a longtime East Orange police officer and youth football director with sex crimes against four children, authorities said. Edward Giles, 61, was arrested in 2019 following a seven-month investigation that found several of the incidents occurred at the officer's West 4th Avenue home in Roselle, according to SVU Director and Union County Assistant Prosecutor Caroline Lawlor, who is prosecuting the case.
