Bergen County Woman Killed In Nutley Hit-Run A 75-year-old Bergen County resident was killed Thursday night in a hit-and-run Nutley crash. Roseann Ratz and a friend were crossing the street near Washington Avenue and Rutgers Place when she was struck by a car around 7:30 p.m., Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II, and Nutley Police Chief Thomas J. Strumolo said. Ratz, of Lyndhurst, was taken to St. Joseph’s University Hospital, where she was pronounced dead just before 8 p.m. The investigation is active and ongoing. No arrests had been made as of Friday afternoon.

Boy, 3, Seen Dangling Out Of Second-Floor Window In Nutley: Police A little boy was spotted hanging out of a second-story window in Nutley Thursday, police said.  The boy, 3, was seen shortly before 5 p.m. at a home on Washington Avenue. Arriving officers climbed the fire escape and brought the child to safety, the department said.  Subsequent investigation revealed that the boy's father, who was home alone with the child, was asleep when the boy climbed through the window.  Asked whether there was to be further investigation or possible charges, a Nutley police spokesman said the matter has been referred to another agency.
