The Little Falls Police Department has shared heartfelt footage of Officer Antonio Piedrabuena being discharged from The Valley Hospital on Saturday, Dec. 21, following a harrowing accident just days earlier.
Piedrabuena, a newlywed, experienced a medical emergency on Thursday, Dec. 19, while driving his marked police vehicle. The episode caused the car to accelerate uncontrollably, reaching speeds of 102 miles per hour, the department said. NJ Soccer Captain Suffered Broken Neck, Ribs In Crash, Campaign Says
Support is on the rise for an 18-year-old North Jersey high school soccer captain who sustained multiple broken bones in a crash last month.
Molly Mack, the captain of the Whippany High School girls team, was identified by the team's booster club as the person seriously injured in the Sunday, Oct. 27 crash between two SUVs on Route 24 in Florham Park, as previously reported by Daily Voice.
A week later, more than $122,000 had been raised for her recovery on a GoFundMe launched by her aunt and uncle, Tom Hamill and Jennifer Gullace, who say Mack was a passenger in one of the vehicles.

$1 Million Settlement Collected By Fair Lawn Driver Rear-Ended Stopping For Pedestrian
A Fair Lawn driver collected a $1 million settlement for a rear-end crash that his attorney said forced him to change jobs.
Gjon Lahu, 35, stopped to let a pedestrian cross Fair Lawn Avenue in September 2017 when his vehicle was struck from behind.
Lahu was seriously injured and required physical therapy, chiropractic treatment, epidural injections and other surgery as a result, his attorney, Mark McBratney of Siegel Law in Ridgewood, told NJLaw.com.
Lahu, who was an auto mechanic at the time, had to take a less-strenuous job as a school custodian because of his injuries, McBratney said.

For 25 years, Lorenza De La Villa of Teaneck barely noticed the small tumor in the back of her head.
She found it in 1995, when she was 64 years old.
It was benign. It didn't hurt. It never grew.
"She did what doctors told her to do," said one of De La Villa's 22 grandchildren, Michelle Tavares, of Weehawken. "She went for MRIs every year and saw a neurologist every six months.

DUMONT, N.J. — The community is rallying around Joe Roberto, a beloved bartender at Dumont's Grant Street.
On Tuesday morning, Roberto discovered that his niece -- Liz Smith -- had been in a horrible car accident in Antigua.
She was flown via medical transport Tuesday night from Antigua to Florida with two broken arms, a shattered pelvis, broken femur, broken ankle, broken sacrum and other injuries, Roberto said.
