The deejay told police he was jacked near the intersection of Summit and Newark avenues, up the street from Journal Square, shortly after 3:30 a.m. Sunday, June 9. There was no explanation of why he purportedly was carrying that much cash. Unconfirmed reports were that at least one of the two had been at the club where the deejay had just worked. Jersey City Hit-Run Driver Arrested In Crash That Seriously Injured Teen Bicyclist: Prosecutor A Jersey City man has been charged in a hit-and-run crash that left an 18-year-old bicyclist seriously injured, authorities announced. Marvin Lara, 39, was behind the wheel of a Toyota RAV4 when he struck the bicycle -- occupied by two people -- on Summit and Jewitt avenues on Jan. 8 around 8:30 p.m., Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Covid-19: Jersey City MVC Agency Closed After Worker Tests Positive A state Motor Vehicle Commissions agency in Jersey City closed on Monday after an employee tested positive for COVID-19. The Summit Avenue agency only handles transactions, and will remain shut until Oct. 6, the agency said in a tweet. MVC spokesman William Connolly told NJ.com the center will remain closed until contact tracers have ensured a required quarantine is complete, and cleared a "sufficient number of employees."  The agencies reopened July 7 after months of being closed due to the virus.
