Garfield police put an end to what they said are false rumors surrounding an incident involving a second-grader in town. One involved a claim that a teacher was "attacked" by a student at the Christopher Columbus School No. 8 -- which police Capt. Mario Pozo said is false. A North Jersey high school principal has issued a letter to parents addressing a recent slew of “homophobic, transphobic, anti-Semitic, and racist” comments that were made by its student community. : Principal Told Mahwah Parents Of Supposed School Shooting Threat
MAHWAH, N.J. -- Mahwah Schools Supt. C. Lauren Schoen apologized to parents Saturday afternoon for the timing of an announcement the night before involving a 13-year-old boy who'd supposedly threatened to "shoot up" Ramapo Ridge Middle School.
