Beachgoers reported multiple jet skis and a police boat in the water near N Street around 3:15 p.m.  A video sent to Daily Voice shows a fire department SUV driving fast on the shoreline. Seaside Park Police Sgt. Andrew Casole at 6:30 p.m. said the search had ended for local officials, however, the Coast Guard remained looking. No one was reported missing and police never spotted a missing swimmer, Casole added. No emergency responders saw a swimmer in distress upon arrival, he said.

Another Dead Whale Washes Up Along Jersey Shore The Marine Mammal Stranding Center was investigating the yet another dead whale that washed up along the Jersey Shore. The whale was still floating nearly a half-mile off of Seaside Park at about 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 1. A MMSC spokeswoman said whale experts were en route to the sighting of the dead humpback whale. A necropsy is typically carried out to determine the mammal's cause of death, and center officials assist in the whate's removal/burial once it beaches. Swimming Advisories Effected At 3 NJ Beaches Where High Bacteria Levels Found A swimming advisory was issued Tuesday for three New Jersey beaches where elevated levels of meningitis-causing bacteria was found. Enterococci turned up in water samples from Trenton Avenue Ocean Beach in Lavallette, 5th Avenue Bay Beach in Seaside Park, and 16th Street Bay Beach in Surf City. The bacteria can cause urinary tract infections, bacterial endocarditis and more. Swimming advisories are effected when samples exceed 104 colony forming units (cfu) of enterococci. Whale Capsizes Boat Off Seaside Shore A whale breached the surface of the water and landed on a fishing boat a few dozen yards offshore Monday in Seaside Park, witnesses said. Two people aboard were OK after the impact threw them into the water, they said. The whale kept swimming and appeared fine, as well, said witnesses who helped collect the pair’s belongings. Authorities were figuring out how to remove the the 25-foot fishing vessel, which landed upright on the beach, according to a Friends of Seaside Park Facebook post.
