: Police Officer Saves Bogota Home Under Construction From Serious Fire Damage
A quick-acting Bogota police officer saved a home undergoing construction work from severe damage after smelling smoke late Thursday, authorities said. Officer Lewis Dueñas summoned firefighters after spotting a fire on the second floor of the Queen Anne Road home shortly before 10:30 p.m., Sgt. Geoffrey Cole said. He and fellow officers forced their way in and determined that no one was inside, Cole said. RIDGEFIELD PARK, N.J. -- After aiding with fires in two neighboring towns, Ridgefield Park firefighters got one of their own just after midnight Tuesday. An electrical fire sent flames through the attic and part of a home at 137 East Grand Avenue. No injuries were immediately reported. BOGOTA, N.J. -- A Bogota firefighter was treated for a knee injury after he and his colleagues doused a Sunday morning house blaze with help from neighboring companies. "Crazy how things can be going so good then in the blink of an eye so bad," the injured firefighter posted on Facebook Sunday afternoon.
