Two Police Cars, Stolen Sedan Towed Following Paramus Labor Day Pursuit, Crash
Two Paramus police cars and a stolen sedan all had to be towed following a damaging Labor Day pursuit that ended with several occupants in custody. The pursuit apparently came down Farview Avenue and ended in the rear of the DCH Paramus Honda Prep Center on Pleasant Avenue off Route 17 around 11 a.m. Four and possibly five suspects -- all believed to be juveniles -- were quickly seized. Paramus Man Charged With Reckless Manslaughter In Shotgun Death Of Cliffside Park Woman, 18
UPDATE: Investigators believe that it was "likely accidental" that an 18-year-old Cliffside Park woman fired the shotgun blast that killed her in the basement of her boyfriend's Paramus home over the weekend, authorities said Monday. Faith Youngling knew the gun was loaded, they noted -- however, they aren't convinced that she intentionally shot herself. Detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office, in turn, charged Kenneth Pinte, 21, with reckless manslaughter, hindering and weapons charges in connection with her death. Two Caught, One Sought After Paramus Police Chase Down Stolen Mercedes
An ex-con who once swiped an off-duty sheriff's officer's car was one of two men nabbed by Paramus police after an overnight stolen car chase. As Daily Voice originally reported, 30-year-old Shakir Curry was charged with aggravated assault on a police officer after he and fellow Newark resident Jaquan Summer, 25, were chased down before dawn Sunday. Curry and Summer were also charged with eluding, resising arrest, theft and drug possession. A third suspect got away, authorities said.
