Three Passengers Hospitalized, Driver Cited, After Vehicle Rolls In Oakland Three passengers were hospitalized with minor injuries after their vehicle rolled into a ditch in Oakland on Thursday, authorities said. Responding police, firefighters and First Aid Squad members found the vehicle on its passenger side off Skyline Drive around 12:45 p.m., Detective Lt. Christian Eldridge said. The three passengers were removed from the 2017 Nissan and taken to The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, the lieutenant said. The Ringwood driver, who wasn’t injured, received a careless driving summons, Eldridge said.

'Son Held Captive': Oakland Detective Finds Caller Who Conned Dad Out Of $5,000 Believing that his son was being held captive at gunpoint, an Oakland man gave $5,000 to a con artist who was arrested by police, authorities said. Borough police Detective Michael Griffin obtained subpoenas, as well as surveillance video from a Walmart in Pennsylvania, to identify Johnny Figueroa Ferreira, 38, of Oak Ridge, Detective Lt. Christian Eldridge said. Ferreira had convinced the victim by phone to send him gift cards and a money order last November by making the bogus claim, Eldridge said. Oakland PD: Drunk Hit-Run Driver Caught A drunk driver from Oakland kept going after his SUV hit a pickup truck and a mailbox on his block, said police who arrested him. Robert Imhoff, 59, was arrested after police found his damaged 2018 Ford Explorer down the street from the Spear Street incident just after 10 p.m. Friday, Oakland Police Lt. Christian Eldridge said. He was charged with DWI, processed and released to a responsible adult pending a court hearing, under John’s Law.
