The shutdown of an entire Bergen County school district due to COVID-19 has some parents protesting, many seeking answers and nearly three dozen calling for the superintendent's removal. Rutgers' football program has halted workouts less than two weeks before training camp due to a COVID-19 outbreak among athletes. Fifteen players tested positive for the virus following series of on-campus parties, state health officials said. Measles Exposure Confirmed At Newark Airport
A traveler from Aruba may have exposed others to the measles earlier this month, state health officials said. The traveler arrived in Terminal C on March 4 and then left for California from the same terminal, the NJ Health Department said. Anyone at the airport between 9 that night and 9:30 a.m. the following day could develop symptoms as late as March 26, health officials said. Adenovirus: 9th Child Dead
Another medically fragile child with respiratory illness at the Wanaque Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation died Saturday, bringing the total deaths among facility residents to nine, state officials said. Among the 25 confirmed adenovirus cases among residents, there have been eight pediatric deaths confirmed with adenovirus, according to the NJ Health Department. The department cannot confirm that the death of an individual who died Friday afternoon was related to the outbreak, officials said.
