New Fort Lee Police Chief Brings Extensive Experience, Communication Skills It’s official: Fort Lee Police Capt. Matthew J. Hintze is becoming the borough's top cop. A Fort Lee native who attended borough public schools, Hintze replaces outgoing chief Keith Bendul on June 1, Mayor Mark Sokolich announced Thursday night.
