Wyckoff Woman, 79, Who Died In House Fire Identified
UPDATE: Virginia D'Amelio Ingenito of Wyckoff was home alone Sunday afternoon when what quickly became an intense fire apparently began in her kitchen. Wyckoff police who arrived first at the Meer Avenue home where she lived with her son and two grandsons found the 79-year-old Italian immigrant unresponsive just after noon Nov. 5, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said. Ingenito was in cardiac arrest when taken to The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, where she was pronounced dead a short time later, responders said. One Dead In Wyckoff House Fire
A grandmother who was pulled from a Wyckoff house fire on Sunday died at the hospital, authorities confirmed. Virginia D'Amelio Ingenito, 79, was found unresponsive by Wyckoff police officers who were the first responders at the fire on Meer Avenue just off James Way behind Route 208 just after noon Nov. 5, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said. Tractor-Trailer Rams Sedan Off Route 208
Two people were hospitalized Friday night after a tractor-trailer exiting Route 208 in Glen Rock struck a sedan. Witnesses claimed the driver of the rig ignored a stop sign exiting the southbound highway at Harristown Road and struck the Honda Civic around 6:45 p.m. Nov. 3. Glen Rock EMS reported three injuries at the scene, with two victims taken by ambulance to Hackensack University Medical Center. There was no immediate word on their conditions. Early arrival students were escorted from the Alexander Hamilton School in Glen Rock on Wednesday after a small fire ignited in a hallway light fixture. Everything went smoothly as the youngsters were temporarily brought from the K-5 school on Harristown Road to the nearby Academy of Our Lady shortly after 8:30 a.m. Oct. 18. A 19-year-old fugitive from Elmwood Park who was wanted for making death threats was arrested by a Glen Rock police officer after eluding capture for more than three months, authorities said.
