UPDATE: A high school student who caused a crash that killed a Teaneck mom near her home has been charged with vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of a fatal crash, authorities announced on Tuesday. Dymond T. Fryson, 40, briefly clung to life following the horrific 7:52 a.m. Jan. 25 crash at the intersection of Palmer and Sherman avenues. Funeral Service Scheduled For William Hennecke, 32, Of Fair Lawn
A funeral service is scheduled this week for 32-year-old Fair Lawn native William "Billy" Hennecke. Hennecke was graduated from Fair Lawn High School and Bergen County Tech, where he studied carpentry, his obituary says. He went on to work as an irrigation technician for Garden State Irrigation and Lighting. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing in local lakes and rivers and riding dirt bikes with family and friends. Grandfather Struck, Killed By Fellow Senior Parishioner Outside Fairview Church
A 77-year-old grandfather from Ridgefield was laid to rest following a funeral at a Fairview church where he was fatally struck by a runaway sedan a week earlier. Athanios Dimitriou and a 56-year-old companion from North Bergen were having lunch under a canopy in the parking lot of the Ascension Greek Orthodox Church on Anderson Avenue when both were struck by a BMW 328 shortly before 11:30 a.m. Sept. 11. Jeff Horohonick -- a beloved and accomplished North Jersey high school softball coach -- died on Sept. 27. He was 60 years old. Those who knew him say his death was a combination of COVID-19 and complications of heart failure. Horohonich -- affectionately known as "Coach H" -- worked as a softball and girls basketball coach at Immaculate Heart and Lodi Immaculate. Brian Low of Oradell is being remembered for the impact he had helping others battling addiction. A Bergen Catholic graduated, Low died on Jan. 3 at 28 years old. "Brian Low is and forever will be a stand up guy," Mike Jack wrote on Facebook, "who even at his worst was getting help to those that needed it."
