Trucker Gets 4 Years In Hit-Run Death Of Teaneck Woman, 21, Near GWB
A Florida trucker was sentenced to a plea-bargained four years in state prison for fleeing a tractor-trailer crash that killed a 21-year-old Teaneck native on Route 95 in Fort Lee last year. Joel Lasanta, 39, was captured by New Jersey State Police two days after the June 4, 2020 crash, authorities said at the time. : Knife-Wielding Gang Of Bergen Convenience Store Robbers Strikes Again
A group of knife-wielding thugs who’ve been robbing convenience stores in Bergen County apparently struck again, authorities said. The clerk at the Route 46 7-Eleven clerk in Elmwood Park told police the gang of four robbed the store of $400, 19 packs of Newports and rolling papers shortly after midnight Friday. The clerk said he was on the phone when one of them, brandishing a knife, walked around the counter and demanded he open the register. Marathon-Running Attorney Suing Port Authority Over Dangerous GWB Walkway
An attorney who says he was left on the ground with a broken arm after a group of cyclists passed him on the New Jersey side of the George Washington Bridge is suing Port Authority over the dangerously narrow walkway he was running on, the New York Post reports. Dennis C. O’Donnell of New York City, who completed more than 20 marathons around the world, filed a $2 million suit in Manhattan Supreme Court Tuesday, the article says.
