7,500 Employees To Be Cut From Unilever, Global Company With Englewood Cliffs Offices
Unilever is saying goodbye to ice cream, and thousands of employees.
The global consumer goods company is cutting 7,500 roles worldwide as part of its new "productivity program," the company announced Tuesday, March 19.
Many say the move is a cold one, as for the first time since 1922, Unilever is leaving the ice cream business.
According to a release, ice cream generated approximately $8.6 billion in 2023 for Unilever. And according to the New York Times, that's approximately 13 percent of the total revenue for the year.

A California man was minutes from a dropoff after driving more than a dozen pounds of fentanyl and heroin cross country to New Jersey when he was stopped in Fort Lee for running a stop sign, authorities said.

A serial burglar wanted on warrants out of no fewer than eight towns in four counties was captured by Maywood police and charged with a break-in at a local dry cleaner.
Nicolas G. Torres, 40, of Passaic, has been repeatedly arrested and then subsequently released under New Jersey’s 2017 bail reform law, mostly on commercial burglary charges, over the past several years, records show.
