A 23-year-old Plainfield man was indicted by a grand jury for murder in the shooting death of a former college football player last August. Maurice Pierce shot Jameer Outsey, of Bridgewater, on North Broad Street and Magnolia Avenue in Elizabeth on Aug. 27, Union County Prosecutor William A. The body parts recovered from the Elizabeth River last month have been identified as those of a 34-year-old Elizabeth resident, authorities announced on Tuesday, June 13. A 27-year-old North Jersey man is facing life in state prison for the shooting death of a teenager, authorities said. Anthony Reciofigueroa, of Jersey City, was found guilty Thursday, June 9 of first-degree murder, second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, and second-degree possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes after a three-week trial, Union County Prosecutor William A. An Elizabeth man wanted on murder charges was captured by members of the US Marshals Service in Pennsylvania, authorities said Wednesday. Michael Rogers, 23, is accused of shooting 32-year-old Antwoine Thompson on April 26, acting Union County Prosecutor Lyndsay V. Ruotolo, Elizabeth Police Chief Giacomo Sacca, and city Police Director Earl Graves said. Authorities in Union County are seeking the public's help investigating a hotel parking lot shooting that left a 26-year-old man dead. Patrick Shukla was killed just before midnight Friday in the Country Inn & Suites by Radisson on International Boulevard in Elizabeth, Acting Union County Prosecutor Lyndsay V.
