After Year In Jail, 'Compulsive' Bergen Cyber-Stalker From Old Tappan Charged Again
A year behind bars apparently made little difference to a convicted “compulsive and repetitive” cyber-stalker from Old Tappan who went after his victim yet again after being released, said authorities who seized him once more on Wednesday. Daniel G. Pfeiffer, 29, spent 364 days in the Bergen County Jail after being convicted of posting fake nude photos and creating bogus social medial accounts of a woman he’d dated nearly seven years earlier. This came after three arrests for similar behavior over a two-year span. The unemployed salesman was released in late October. Bergen County Prosecu…

Prosecutor: Delaware Man, 23, Had Sex Chats, Planned Meeting With 12-Year-Old New Milford Girl
A Delaware man who’d been having sexually explicit online chats with a 12-year-old New Milford girl arranged a meeting with her, said authorities who arrested him before that could happen. A family member interrupted the planned liaison and alerted authorities who arrested Nicholas G. Clark, a 23-year-old package handler from Newark, DE, Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Dennis Calo said Tuesday. The chats had gone on for nearly two months before Clark planned what was to be an April 5 meeting, Calo said. Thanks to the relative, a detective from the prosecutor’s Cyber Crimes Unit took contro…

HIM? Video Shows $32,000+ Park Ridge Bank Robbery
UPDATE (MAY 9, 2019): As coincidences go, it's odd: A bogus 911 "active shooter" call that brought a SWAT team and swarms of other responders to a Park Ridge home had nothing to do with a bank robbery across town that occurred at almost the same time, authorities said. Questions of a possible connection arose after authorities last week announced that Austin Parks, 48, of Spring Valley had been charged with making the April 17 call. However, a senior law enforcement official told Daily Voice that the call was "unrelated...oddly" to the robbery at nearly the same time of an Oritani Bank bra…

Prosecutor: Lodi Stalker Impersonated Woman, 18, On Dating Sites
A self-employed insurance adjuster from Lodi impersonated an 18-year-old woman on dating sites for several months -- and even tried making a date, authorities charged Friday. Matthew J. Bolger Jr., 46, created two “fictitious social media accounts on dating and romance websites/applications in the likeness” of the victim for “a period spanning several months,” Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Dennis Calo said. Detectives from Calo’s Cyber Crimes Unit raided Bolger’s Long Valley Road residence and took him into custody on Friday. They charged him with stalking, impersonation and cyber-harass…

Hillsdale Schools Chief: Perceived Threat To Middle School Deemed Harmless
What a Hillsdale middle schooler considered a threat was deemed "non-specific and not credible" by borough police and county prosecutor's detectives, authorities said Monday. The seeds of the incident were sown last week when someone began sharing an inappropriate photo of a girl that made its way to some students, parents said. “The girl has ties to someone in Hillsdale, so some of the kids know her,” one said. District officials asked parents following the incident to talk with their children about blocking and preventing “the transmission of inappropriate pictures,” Schools Supt. R…

Last Friday, members of Calo's Cyber Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at O'Connor's home following a months-long investigation, Calo said. He was processed on third-degree child endangerment charges and released pending an Oct. 17 first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, the prosecutor said.

Two calls to Paramus Catholic High School “threatening gun violence and bomb threats” were made by a Georgia man, said authorities who arrested him. Smith made the threats on May 10 "using technology to disguise his calling line identity," Calo said. "First responders cleared the school building and determined that the calls were bogus," the prosecutor said. No mot…

Prosecutor: NYC Man Downloaded Child Porn At North Arlington Home
You don’t have to use your home computer to get busted for downloading kiddie porn, said authorities who arrested a Queens man for doing so while at a North Arlington home. George L. Cordova, 33, who’s single and unemployed, was charged with having more than 100 files “depicting nude or sexually explicit prepubescent and pubescent children,” Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Dennis Calo said. Working with the NYPD, members of Calo’s Cyber Crimes Unit zeroed in on Cordova, who, the prosecutor said, “used the Internet while at a residence in North Arlington to view and possess” the files.
