JCPenney Files For Bankruptcy
JCPenney has filed for bankruptcy, becoming the largest retailer to crumble during the coronavirus crisis. The retailer has 11 stores in New Jersey and is expected to announce which ones will close in the coming weeks. JCPenney hopes to come out of Chapter 11 "and this pandemic as a stronger retailer," company CEO Jill Soltau said. The Garden State Plaza location shuttered in March 2018. NY Jets GM Joe Douglas Keeps Leaving Fat Tips At Morris County Restaurant
One Morris County business is feeling the love from New York Jets general manager Joe Douglas during the coronavirus crisis. Douglas reportedly left a $100 tip on a $101 order at River Grille Sunday. He's done it the past two times he picked up food at the River Road restaurant, the New York Post reports. Bartender Ryan Holsten's girlfriend Cara Gaunno posed a photo of the receipt on Reddit, where it had garnered more than 9,000 clicks Monday. PA Man Distraught By Coronavirus Shoots Woman, Kills Himself
A Pennsylvania man who recently lost his job and was becoming increasingly upset by the coronavirus crisis shot his girlfriend in the back as she fled -- then he killed himself, reports say. Roderick Bliss, 38, of Wilson Borough, shot the 43-year-old woman in the back around 1:20 p.m. Monday outside his apartment on N. 17th Street, LehighValley Live reports.
