The construction worker killed in a Kenilworth trench accident earlier this month has been identified as a 29-year-old former Rutgers University athlete. Corey Greg Stasenko, of Cranford, was killed on Monday, May 6, during a project on Monroe Street, Daily Voice has learned. UPDATE: The survivors of a worker who fell to his death from a residential roof in Haledon will receive $75,000 after his employer admitted in federal court this week that his Middlesex County construction company failed to provide any fall protection equipment or training. A worker suffered a compound leg fracture during a mishap on the site of a developing senior housing community in Teaneck, authorities said. The 23-year-old worker was walking between two metal I beams at ground level when one of them tipped onto his leg shortly after 1 p.m. Monday, May 8, Teaneck Police Chief Andrew McGurr said. A 43-year-old construction worker from Philadelphia has been identified as the victim crushed to death by a balcony that collapsed at a Sea Isle City high-rise Friday, Feb. 24, authorities said. A 26-year-old worker was rescued after becoming trapped in a 10-foot hole on the Jersey Shore Thursday, June 30. The man was helping to dig a footing for a deck at a Carmine Way home in Howell when he became trapped up to his shoulders in dirt around 3:25 p.m., Howell police said. Howell Sgt. Rescuers freed a worker who fell 15 feet at a Lakewood construction site Friday morning, authorities said. Rescuers who responded to the 8 a.m. call at the site off Attaya Road used a Stokes basket to secure and left the worker out, Lakewood Fire Chief Mike D'Elia Jr. said. Construction Worker Falls From Fair Lawn Roof
A 49-year-old construction worker was injured when he fell 15 feet off the roof of a Fair Lawn home. The Fair Lawn Volunteer Ambulance Corps took the worker to St. Joseph's University Medical Center in Paterson after the Hopper Avenue mishap at 4:20 p.m. Saturday, Police Sgt. Brian Metzler said. The victim, who lives in Newark, injured his back, neck and wrist, Metzler said.

Tenafly Firefighters Free Worker In Home Construction Site Fall
A 55-year-old worker was hospitalized in a 10-foot fall Thursday morning at a Tenafly home construction site. Firefighters got the Newark worker out after he fell into the basement area of a new foundation, with no way out, at the Buckingham Road site just before 9 a.m., police Capt. Michael deMoncada said. The Tenafly Volunteer Ambulance Corps took him to Hackensack University Medical Center with head and shoulder injuries that weren't considered life-threatening, Moncada said. OSHA was notified.

A gas leak at a construction site temporarily closed eastbound Route 4 in Fair Lawn Tuesday morning. A contractor hit a gas mean at a building under construction between East and West Amsterdam avenues, the former site of the Spivak Lighting building, around 9:30 a.m., Sgt. Brian Metzler said. Firefighters rescued a worker who fell 20 or so feet off a ladder Monday morning into the basement of a new home under construction in Ridgewood. Rescuers brought a Stokes basket and ropes along after the 10:30 a.m. mishap on North Monroe Street. Paterson Construction Worker Falls To Death From Building Roof
A construction worker fell to his death from the roof of a building Tuesday morning in Paterson, authorities said. Joseph Perillo, 56 of Woodland Park, fell from a Michigan Avenue building and into an empty dumpster at 9:13 a.m., Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M.
