A town of Boonton police veteran who claimed he’d been harassed because of his role as a union negotiator was captured on surveillance video stealing his own internal affairs records along with computer drives containing department data, state authorities charged.
Capt. Stephen Jones, 42, of Toms River, was his department’s officer-in-charge when he removed at least five computer towers, “three of which contained police information, including files on internal affairs matters,” New Jersey Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin said on Wednesday, March 8.

A former Mount Laurel police officer who was charged with hacking into the social media accounts of an Evesham woman and distributing her nude pictures has been charged with victimizing multiple other women, authorities said.
Ayron Taylor, 22, of Delran, was taken into custody on Wednesday, Nov. 30 and released Friday afternoon, Dec. 2, following a first appearance in Superior Court in Mount Holly. Rockland Men Charged With Stalking, Posting Personal Info Of North Jersey Police Officers
Two Rockland men waged a harassment campaign against dozens of North Jersey police officers, researching and posting personal information about them online through what’s known as “doxing,” Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said Wednesday.
Evan V. Koulikov, 21, of Spring Valley “unlawfully accessed a secure database of a New Jersey medical services company and unlawfully copied the personal identifying information of approximately 50 public employees,” most of them police officers, Musella said.

FORT LEE, N.J. – A former Fort Lee mortgage broker already headed to a federal pen must also spend at least three years in state prison for filing bogus unemployment and temporary disability claims that netted $317,736 by using the names of prison inmates.
Jose Crespo, 52, must also pay the government back after pleading guilty last April to computer theft.
Crespo's wife, Marilyn Crespo, 50, pleaded guilty to theft charge and was sentenced to a drug court program that carries a five-year prison sentence if she fails to meet its requirements.
