Grand Jury: Officers Justified Killing Pair In 2019 Jersey City Firefight
Police were justified in shooting a couple who killed a fellow officer and three civilians in Jersey City, authorities on Wednesday said a state grand jury has found. Some would question the need for such a review given the circumstances of the fateful Dec. 10, 2019 firefight at a kosher grocery store. The answer: It’s required under New Jersey law and state attorney general’s guidelines. Authorities had no choice. David Anderson, 47, and Francine Graham, 50, had slain Jersey City Police Officer Joseph Seals in a nearby cemetery. They then wounded another officer before killing Mindy Fere…

'Police Misconduct' Presentation At Bergen High School Upsets Parents, Law Enforcement
A presentation by a federal official to a Bergen County high school class about “police misconduct” has drawn the ire of some parents and law enforcement alike. Torey Cummings of the U.S. Attorney's Office for Massachusetts used slides during last Friday’s presentation at Ramapo High School in Franklin Lakes that portray an unfairly negative image of police officers, parents said. One slide, titled "Police Violence and People of Color," featured blatantly false and misleading information, they said. Former New York City Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik, who lives in Franklin Lakes, said a…

Trump Issues 26 Pardons Including One For NJ's Charles Kushner
It seems President Donald Trump understands his time in office will soon end, as he has granted clemency to 26 of his allies over the past two days. Among them, New Jersey's Charles, the father of Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner. The elder Kushner previously pleaded guilty to 16 counts of tax invasion and one for retaliating against a federal witness. Others given pardons include Roger Stone, who was convicted of lying to Congress and Paul Manafort, Trump's 2016 campaign manager who was convicted by a jury of banking and tax crimes, and had been serving his 7.5-year sentence at …

Commish Bernie Kerik
A former disgraced Wall Street securities trader from Middlesex County who's accused of running a sex cult using his daughter’s college classmates already had a notorious history in both New York and New Jersey. Before he was nabbed in a $41 million pump-and-dump stock fraud two decades ago, Lawrence Ray had reportedly developed mob ties. Ray, now 60, also became good friends with former NYPD Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik of Franklin Lakes. He also claimed to have worked for a U.S. intelligence agency in Kosovo and in 1997 brokered a City Hall meeting with Mayor Rudolph Giuliani and So…

Commissioner Kerik's Son Among Squad That Took Out Jersey City Shooters
The son of former NYPD Commissioner Bernard Kerik was among a group of officers who rushed a Jersey City kosher grocery in an armored vehicle on Tuesday following a prolonged gun battle with a couple who killed a fellow officer and three civilians. Newark Police Detective Joseph Kerik, an emergency services veteran, was treated for bruises at Jersey City Medical Center after the two assailants were gunned down in a hail of bullets. The 34-year-old Paramus High School graduate has been working with a federal task force that was among the units that converged on the Greenville section Tuesday…

Slain Officer ID'd In Jersey City Bloodbath As Bergen Dad, Two Shooters, 3 Civilians Also Dead
UPDATE: A police officer, two suspects and three civilians were killed in what became a Jersey City gun battle Tuesday afternoon, authorities confirmed. The slain officer was identified as Joseph Seals, a 17-year department veteran and father of five -- including a newborn -- who lived in North Arlington. “Our thoughts and prayers are with Joe’s family during this Christmas season and beyond,” Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop said. “We take for granted sometimes the selfless work a police officer does when they wear that uniform. In the end they are people that volunteered to keep every…
