Details Released In Bayonne Officer-Involved Shooting
Authorities have released details in an officer-involved shooting early Thursday, July 13 in Bayonne. Bayonne police responding to a report of theft from a gas station on 53rd Street near Avenue E around 6:45 a.m., found a suspect in the parking lot of Burger King on Broadway and 54th, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Feds: Gunman Admits Intent To ‘Kill Lot Of People’ In Jersey City After Brother Was Shot Dead
An ex-con bent on avenging his brother’s death admitted he went to Jersey City armed with a semi-automatic handgun intending to “kill a lot of people.” Aware of his plan, police grabbed Raheem Allen, 34, of Newark and seized an Intratec Tec-22 loaded with 25 rounds of ammunition this past March, Acting U.S. Attorney Rachael A. Honig said. Allen’s brother, Anthony Alvarado, 27, was considered a high-ranking member of a Jersey City street gang, Honig said. Crash That Killed Bayonne Woman, 61, Under Investigation
The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office is investigating a collision involving three vehicles and claimed the life of a Bayonne woman over the weekend. Police responded to 22nd Street and Avenue E shortly before 1 a.m. Saturday, when a 2003 Honda CRV traveling north collided with a Hionda Accord travelling west on 22nd. The CRV rolled onto its roof, ejecting Degloria Peterson, 61. A third vehicle, a 2008 Honda Accord, also struck the CRV as it was traveling south on Avenue E. Peterson was taken to Jersey City Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead at around 2:20 a.m.…

: Mom Arrested In Attack On Bayonne Bus Aide
UPDATE: A Bayonne woman has been charged in the attack, police said June 27. See the story here. A 3-year-old child was accidentally hit in the face when a parent boarded a school bus in Bayonne and attacked an aide, the alleged victim told police. The 28-year-old aide told police the youngster's eyeglasses were knocked off and broken when they hit the floor during the 1 p.m. incident Wednesday at 50th Street and Avenue E. Additional information couldn't be released Thursday morning because the incident was still under investigation, Lt. Eric Amato said. No arrests had been made.
