: Fair Lawn PD Nabs Habitual Paterson Offender Wanted In Glen Rock
Two Fair Lawn police officers nabbed a repeat offender who they said was carrying a Gucci wallet, credit cards, identification and nearly $500 in cash stolen from a car parked in a Glen Rock resident’s driveway. Authorities suspect that Emmanuel Bernard, a 30-year-old Dominican national who lives in Paterson, also took a cell phone, sunglasses and gaming cartridges, as well as shoes and clothing, much of which Glen Rock police recovered. : Medical Episode Causes Five-Vehicle Fair Lawn Chain-Reaction Crash, Two Hospitalized
Two people were hospitalized in a chain-reaction Fair Lawn crash involving five vehicles, police said. It began when a 66-year-old Fair Lawn driver suffered a medical episode on Fair Lawn Avenue near Abbott Road shortly before 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Sgt. Brian Metzler said. First, his 2019 Audi hit a traffic safety bollard and pedestrian crossing sign, Metzler said. Then the Audi rammed into a 2007 Saturn and two parked vehicles -- a 2017 Nissan and a 2019 Toyota, he said. He Did It Again: Fair Lawn Detective Makes Another Arrest In Mailbox Check-Theft Spree
The arrests continue to pile up for a Fair Lawn police detective who’s been tracking down checks stolen from a trio of post office drop boxes. A borough victim reported a $1,000 check that she’d mailed at the Radburn Post Office on Abbott Road was fraudulently cashed into another account, Sgt. Brian Metzler said. Detective Paul Donohue investigated and arrested Kilver Paulino, 19 of Paterson. Paulino admitted he cashed the check, withdrew the money after the check cleared and kept $350, Metzler said.
