Bobby Valentine Speaking At Englewood Cliffs Little League

ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J. -- Former professional baseball player and manager Bobby Valentine will speak at Englewood Cliffs Little League opening day at Witte Memorial Field-Johnson Park on Saturday.

Mayor Mario Kranjac will speak and throw out the first pitch for the minor leagues at 9:45 a.m. Valentine will attend the ceremonies and speak to parents and kids. 

Valentine led the Mets to the World Series in 2000 and was the team's manager from 1996-2002. He also managed the Texas Rangers and Boston Red Sox. 

He was a professional major league baseball player for the Dodgers, Angels, Mets and Mariners. 

A resident of Stamford, he is currently the athletic director at Sacred Heart University, Fairfield. 

Witte Memorial Field-Johnson Park is located at 62 Johnson Ave. for GPS.
