In Bergen County, the average tax bill was $20,910 in 2016 — just $22 higher than the tax bill in 2015.
At $2.72 million, Alpine had the highest average residential property value the with a total tax levy of just $15 million, NJ.com said.

- Saddle River, No. 18, $17,221 in average property taxes.
- Upper Saddle River, No. 17, $17,462 in average property taxes.
- Haworth, No. 14, $17,769 in average property taxes.
- Demarest, No. 11, $18,418 in average property taxes.
