Superior Court Judge Tosses Alpine Church Case

HACKENSACK, N.J. – In a ruling this week, a Superior Court Judge cited the principal of separation of church and state while refusing to intervene in a dispute between members of The Alpine Methodist Episcopal Church, according to northjersey.com.

The church members sued the Rev. Hae Jong Kim after a private investigator they hired said he found evidence Kim had mismanaged church money in order to pay personal utility bills and had hired a financial secretary who was stealing collection-plate donations, the story said.

Kim sought to have the case dismissed. According to northjersey.com, Judge Robert Wilson granted the request, citing his unwillingness to involve the court in the church matter.
