Woman believed jumped from Palisades found fine near Alpine Lookout

ONLY ON CVP: What began as fears of a jumper vanished when a woman who’d gone missing walked up to a Palisades Interstate Parkway police officer near the Alpine Lookout just after daybreak and said she was lost.

Rappel teams were called to the lookout area after the woman was reported to have possibly jumped Sunday night and police found her car nearby.

As it turned out, “she was lost overnight in the woods,” Acting PIP Police Chief Michael J. Coppola told CLIFFVIEW PILOT. “She walked up to one of our officers the next morning, asking to help find her car.”
