The Woodland Street Mercedes owner told police the vehicle was taken sometime between 7:45 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. Thursday, Capt. Michael deMoncada said.
It had been left “unlocked in the driveway with the key fob inside the car,” with a purse and other personal items inside, he said.
Later on Thursday, an Oak Street resident told police the someone took her wallet – with cash and credit cards inside -- from her unlocked car parked in her driveway between 11:45 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Anyone who saw anything or has information that could help find those responsible is asked to contact Tenafly detectives: (201) 568-5100.
deMoncada also reminded citizens to “always lock their vehicles and remove any valuables and car keys (or fobs) when they park their cars for the night.”
He also urged residents to not hesitate to report any suspicious activity they see, no matter the time.
