Sgt. Kley Peralta stopped the northbound 2006 tan Lincoln Zephyr for having tinted windows.

As he spoke to them, Peralta, “observed tnumerous indicators that lead him to believe that the occupants were not being truthful,” Detective Lt. Michael Coppola said.

The officer got driver Chauncy Myron Maynor’s consent to search the vehicle and found two wax paper envelopes, each with 50 bags of heroin, in a cigarette box in the center console, Coppola said.

Maynor, it turned out, was driving with a suspended license and was wanted on several outstanding traffic warrants, the lieutenant said.

Both Maynor, 48, of Albany and his passenger, 44-year-old Lenny Pearson of Brooklyn, were arrested and charged with possession of heroin with the intent to sell it. They are being held on $80,000 bail each in the Bergen County Jail pending court appearances.
