ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J. -- Power to the immediate area was restored just before 10:30 a.m. Friday in Englewood Cliffs, nearly three hours after a fruit-and-vegetable delivery truck snapped a utility pole in half.
The 7:30 a.m. incident on Hudson Terrace in front of Borough Hall tied up morning commuters headed to the George Washington Bridge.
The driver escaped unharmed but had to remain inside the truck until PSE&G could cut power, because of downed live utility lines, Police Chief Michael Cioffi told Daily Voice.
