Besides the clear image from the Depeyster Avenue home, investigators have prints lifted and examined by the Bergen County Sheriff’s Bureau of Criminal Identification, Tenafly Police Chief Michael Bruno said.
“The photo is a night-vision shot, so the hoodie he is wearing is actually dark in color,” Bruno told CLIFFVIEW PILOT this afternoon.
In both break-ins Wednesday night, the burglar forced open the front door, the chief said.
The break-in occurred last Wednesday while the residents were away, Bruno said. They discovered it when they got back Sunday night, he said.
The other burglary occurred the previous Wednesday, the chief said.
Burglar alarms knocked out by Hurricane Sandy apparently gave the bandit an added layer of protection.
