TENAFLY, N.J. – In what has become a relentless campaign of terror, Kaplen JCC on the Palisades in Tenafly for the third time this year was among several Jewish centers in North America that received phoned bomb threats Monday morning.

Altogether, 21 threats were called in on Monday to 13 JCCs and eight Jewish day schools in Alabama, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Virginia, authorities said.

That brought the January-February total to 90 incidents at 73 locations -- including JCCs and Jewish day schools -- in 30 states and one Canadian province.

Kaplen JCC got its first call on Jan 9, then another Jan. 31.

David Posner, director of strategic performance at JCC Association of North America, demanded swift action by the government.

“Actions speak louder than words," Posner said Monday. "Members of our community must see swift and concerted action from federal officials to identify and capture the perpetrator or perpetrators who are trying to instill anxiety and fear in our communities.

“We remain grateful to local law enforcement who continue to serve our communities and ensure that our JCCs and schools remain safe and open for business as the vital community institutions they are.”
