They, in turn, arrested 32-year-old Orlando Bonet and charged him with various counts of domestic violence, aggravated assault and weapons possession.

The 27-year-old victim went to Englewood Medical Center around 9 a.m. Wednesday with several stab wounds on her torso inflicted the night before.

Hospital authorities contacted city police, Detective Capt. Timothy Torell told CLIFFVIEW PILOT this afternoon.

They were waiting when Bonet returned to the couple’s West Englewood Avenue home from work that night and arrested him, Torell said. They also recovered the knife, he said.

Bonet was being held on $90,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail.

His wife was released from the hospital later in the day.

“Unfortunately, this scenario is not an uncommon one in domestic violence incidents,” the captain told CLIFFVIEW PILOT. “This time the victim went for medical treatment and got the services she needs.”
