The flyover included landmarks — among them, the Statue of Liberty.
The Enterprise also soared over the Verrazano and Jersey City before passing over Manhattan and Long Island on its way to JFK Airport, its temporary home for now.
“Welcome to New York, and thanks for the show,” an air traffic controller said.
The Enterprise will soon find permanent residence on the flight deck of the Intrepid.
It will be brought there by barge.
