Cash was taken from registers at five of the businesses after the thief or thieves forced open doors sometime between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m., Detective Capt. Timothy Torell said.
“We’re reviewing surveillance video and looking for witnesses,” Torell told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.
The first break-in apparently occured at A&G Multi-Service, the phone store, the captain said.
Another was reported at Sabor Cubano Restaurant, and then at two businesses in a multi-use building — Oori Service Company, a Korean catering business, and Dolce and Salato Bakery — as well as in a storage area owned by the landlord, from which Torell said tools and other items were taken.
The final report came at this morning from Christina’s Collections, the captain said.
The owners were trying to determine how much was taken, he said.
Police asked that anyone who may have seen something that could help investigators call (201) 468-5875.
