“This is a robbery, give me all you have, no dyes no money packs,” said the note handed to the teller, Police Capt. Daniel Morrissey said following the 1:35 p.m. holdup.
The robber, who didn’t show a weapon, was described as Hispanic, about 5-foot-10 to 5-foot-11, wearing a dark jacket, blue jeans and the football cap — part of the merchandise for the Feb. 2 Super Bowl at MetLife Stadium.
He walked south on Sylvan Avenue (Route 9W) before witnesses lost track of him, Morrissey said.
Surrounding towns were notified and a perimeter set up.
A K9 unit from the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office tracked for a stretch before losing the scent in the area of Bayview Avenue and Hudson Terrace.
The sheriff’s Bureau of Criminal Identification processed the bank scene.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Englewood Cliffs detectives: (201) 569-8300.
