“The fact that all of these robberies occurred during daylight hours, in roughly the same area of the city and within such a short period of time, leads us to believe one suspect may be responsible for all four,” Detective Lt. Tim Torell told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

“We take these types of incidents very seriously and detectives are working to apprehend this guy before someone gets seriously hurt,” he said.

Today’s occurred near 45 Tenafly Road around 1:45 p.m. when a 70-year-old man was knocked to the ground, sustaining an ankle injury, and had a gold chain snatched, Torell said.

Another occurred around 12:30 yesterday afternoon when someone approached a 25-year-old woman walking along Haring Place and also grabbed her chain, the lieutenant said.

The strong-arm robberies along the border of the 3rd and 4th Ward began on June 15 when a 29-year-old man was punched in the face near 100 Knickerbocker Road by a robber, who went through his pockets and, finding nothing, took off, Torell said.

It was a little after 3 p.m. June 27 when a 31-year-old man had an iPhone ripped from his hand while he was talking on it in the area of 275 West Palisade Avenue. He wasn’t injured, Torell said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Englewood Detective Bureau at (201) 568-4875. All calls will be kept confidential.
