Tenafly police said they found the drunken defendant hiding in the bushes of a home several blocks away just after 11 p.m.
His mini-van was still parked in the driveway of his ex-wife’s East Clinton Avenue home, which sustained damage to the garage door, they said.
Police didn’t identify him because it was a domestic incident, but records show that a judge ordered Artem Kryvoruchko, 31, held on $100,000 bail on charges of stalking, contempt of a court order, burglary, criminal mischief and eluding following the arrest.
He also received summonses for DWI, refusing to take a breath test, leaving the scene of a crash and driving while suspended.
Officers from Tenafly, Cresskill, Englewood Cliffs, and a Bergen County Sheriff K-9 unit assisted in the search, Detective Capt. Michael deMoncada said Thursday.
The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Kryvoruchko was also drunk in March when, records show, he threatened the victim with an axe and fought with police.
Kryvoruchko had broken into the woman’s home and refused to leave, according to police reports that say she ran out of the house, drove off and called police when he went to the bathroom.
Kryvoruchko, who had only recently been released from jail for a previous incident, was charged with false imprisonment, making terroristic threats, assaulting police, resisting arrest, simple assault, burglary with a weapon and criminal mischief with damage.
He spent two months in the Bergen County Jail before posting $75,000 bail in May, records show.
