The pistol-packin’ mama bolted when the gun jammed, taking the piece with her and leaving the young’uns behind.Vanessa Marty, 23, is being held in Hudson County on $150,000 bail after the bizarre incident. She’s charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, endangering the welfare of children, and various weapons offenses.
Police said Marty brought her two young kids, ages 3 and 4, for a joint custody visit at their dad’s Jersey City home on Bergen Avenue. After he made a phone call, she asked to use his cellphone, then flipped through his call log.
After finding Babydaddy’s new babygirl, Marty called her up and gave her a talkin’ to, they said.
Here’s where it gets really wacky:
Although doggin’ dad snatched back the phone and LOCKED HIMSELF IN THE BEDROOM, Marty kicked in the door. They began tusslin’, and ended up in the hallway — where, police said, she pulled a 9mm handgun from the carriage and squeezed off a shot that lodged in a wall.
She bolted, leaving the kids behind — but carrying the gun in her waistband. Marty was cornered by police soon after and arrested without incident. The kids stayed with their dad.
