Five adults received summonses and four juveniles were issued complaints and released to their parents after Officer Joseph Villone found them around 2 a.m., Acting Chief Michael Coppola said this morning.
Villone first discovered a vehicle with pot in plain view at the Englewood Cliffs lookout off the Palisades Interstate Parkway, Coppola said.
Moments later, he said, the officer found the group beyond the wall at the cliff’s edge. Villone also saw “alcohol containers, suspected [m]arijuana, and a [m]arijuana ‘bong’ ” nearby, Coppola said.
Ordered back to safety, each of the partiers “admitted to partial ownership of the contraband” and said that “they were there celebrating graduation,” the acting chief said.
Three of the juveniles are 17 and one 16, he said. The adults are all 18.
The adults were charged with underaged possession of alcohol, possession of pot and of drug paraphernalia and creating a hazardous condition. The minors received juvenile complaints.
