Gunmen Rob Tenafly Family Of Casino Winnings In Driveway

TENAFLY, N.J. -- Two gunmen robbed a Tenafly family of more than $3,000 in their driveway, most of which they'd won earlier at a casino, authorities said.

Members of the Franklin Street family believe the robbers followed them from the Empire City Casino in Yonkers before surprising them just after 4:30 a.m. Sunday, Capt. John Trainer told Daily Voice.

"They didn't hurt them, but they threatened harm with handguns shown," Trainor said. "They took not only what they won at the casino but also their wallets and a backpack.

"It was at least $3,000."

Detectives were checking the neighborhood for surveillance video.

They asked that residents who have cameras check them to see whether they might have recorded any vehicles in the neighborhood around the time of the robbery.
