Luis Perez, 31, was arrested at his home early Saturday by detectives from Englewood and the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit on charges of criminal sexual contact, child endangerment, threats to kill and transmitting obscene material to a minor.

The alleged behavior “began when the young girl and Perez were alone in a room together for a short while,” Detective Capt. Timothy Torell told CLIFFVIEW PILOT this afternoon. “During a period of three months afterwards, Perez is accused of inappropriately touching the victim and sending her lewd material.”

Perez remained held on $75,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail. Federal immigration authorities were notified, Torell said.
