Dante Crawford, 27, of Englewood, is accused of stabbing a man and woman during an argument at a West Englelwood apartment building, Detective Capt. Tim Torell told Daily Voice.

Crawford was riding a bicycle on Mary Street when he saw detectives, hopped off and ran into area backyards just before midnight Tuesday, Detective Capt. Tim Torell told Daily Voice.

Officer Luana Sharpe joined in the chase and ran down Crawford a short distance away.

Crawford, who was ordered held in the Bergen County Jail pending a bail hearing, is charged with aggravated assault and weapons offenses, as well as resisting arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The victims -- a 33-year-old man and 45-year-old woman, both from Englewood -- have since recovered from their injuries after being hospitalized, Torell said.
