Tahref Folkes, 26, was arrested after a raid Thursday on his Oakland Street apartment turned up the guns and ammo, Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal said.
He was charged with various counts of illegally possessing both – including being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, resisting arrest and child endangerment.
Arrested with Folkes was his live-in girlfriend, Briana Sampler, whom authorities charged with drug distribution and paraphernalia possession.
Grewal thanked the sheriff’s office and Englewood, Paramus and Tenafly police for their assistance.
The arrests stemmed from “Operation Safe City,” a joint initiative by Grewal’s office and Englewood police that has focused on the increasing gun violence in the city.
Between April 2015 and last month, 31 shootings were reported in Englewood.
In turn, authorities arrested 21 people on charges that range from attempted murder to drug and weapons possession.
Grewal noted that 10 search warrants were executed in October, leading to the seizure of seven illegal guns, as well as various amounts of pot, cocaine and drug proceeds.
