Garth Virgil, 51, pulled out a pocket knife and slashed the 28-year-old man on the abdomen and arm just after 10:30 p.m. near the intersection of East Forest Avenue and Mary Street, Suffern said.

The victim was taken to Englewood Medical Center with injuries that weren’t considered life-threatening.

Virgil, meanwhile, was brought to Engelwood police headquarters, where he was being processed this morning.
