Officer Kyle Ust stopped the trio's Jaguar on Sylvan Avenue (Route 9W) just after 8 p.m. Sunday for a broken taillight, Police Chief Michael Cioffi told Daily Voice.
A quick computer check turned up a warrant on the owner, he said.
West also "noticed the smell of marijuana" coming from the car, the chief said.
The owner, 20-year-old Jonathan Rivera, apparently switched seats with his girlfriend Tiffany Amber Reyes, 19, Cioffi said. Both were wanted on warrants, records show.
Officer Mark Krapels arrived and all three -- including passenger Manuel Nieves, 23 -- were taken into custody, he said.
They were being held on $25,000 bail each in the Bergen County Jail on drug possession and distribution charges, as well as possession of illicit proceeds -- $1,783 that Cioffi said was confiscated.
