ENGLEWOOD, N.J. -- Mattie Jane Moats, a resident of Englewood, died Saturday, April 2. She was 89.
She was born May 15, 1926, to Mattie and Ammond Moats in Moyers, W.Va.
She attended school in West Virgina, and then migrated to New York and become a resident for more than 40 years. She later moved to Englewood, where she retired and enjoyed staying home with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Anthony (Adrianne), Elizabeth (Chrissie), Constance (Connie), Frances, and Karen; 12 grandchildren, Anthony, Markisha, Davon, Ricky, Sharday, Tony Ajeem, Kiara, Trevor, Kimberli, Brielle and Bruce; 11 great-grandchildren; sister Christine Mayes of Teaneck; two sisters-in-law, Avis Moats of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Kay Moats of Springlake, N.C.
She was predeceased by her parents Mattie and Ammond Moats; three brothers and two sisters.
