Eddie Murphy's Brother, Charlie, Of Englewood, Dies

ENGLEWOOD, N.J. – Longtime Englewood resident Charlie Murphy – an actor, comedian and older brother to Eddie Murphy – died Wednesday.

Murphy, who was 57, died of leukemia, according to multiple media reports.

Murphy made multiple appearances on Comedy Central’s sketch series "Chappelle’s Show."

He appeared in films such as "Harlem Nights," "Mo’Better Blues," "Jungle Fever," and "The Player’s Club." He also co-wrote some of his brother Eddie's movies, such as "Norbit" and "Vampire in Brooklyn."
