Born Lea Michele Sarfati, the singer/actress turns 29 today, Aug. 29.
She moved from the Bronx, N.J., to Tenafly and attended Tenafly High School in New Jersey.
Best known for her role as Rachel Berry on “Glee,” which brought her two Golden Globe nominations, an Emmy nomination and a SAG Award, Michele has also starred on Broadway in productions of “Les Misérables,” “Ragtime,” “Fiddler on the Roof” and “Spring Awakening,” for which she was nominated for a Drama Desk Award.
She is now appearing in "Scream Queens" on Fox.
